In the 60's when the Sword in the Stone was made Bill Peets I think it was had to make a tough choice of which film to produce. It was a choice between The Sword in the Stone, the story of a young orphan who with the help of a great magician grows up to be the King of England, or Chanticleer, the story of a rooster that realizes that the sun doesn't need him to rise. Each film had a lot of work done on it, and it was up to Peets (once again, I'm not positive if it was him) to decide. When he chose Sword over the Rooster, a lot of people that invested a lot of time on Chanticleer were very mad with him. Do you think he made the right decision?

I don't know what to pick. I really liked The Sword in the Stone, but I am also curious to see how Disney's adaptation of the story would have been. We can't know now because this story has already been made in a film called Rock-a-Doodle.

Yeah, I wonder why they couldn't make both, probably a budget problem. Im going to say that I'd rather have Chanticleer, I dont know why though.

Sword in the Stone is a wonderful movie!! I am so glad that they made that one. I don't know what I would do without it actually.

I voted for Chanticleer just because I haven't seen it. Of course, if they made Chanticleer, I'd have voted for Sword.

Well I didn't vote for Chanticleer because I heard it involves frog legs, and I'm sorry but frog legs are for lovers!

I'm going to say Sword in the Stone. Don Bluth did an AMAZING job on Rock-a-Doodle. Don Bluth is one of my heroes, so I'm going to have to speak for him when I say: Disney could have done no better. Sword in the Stone is a WONDERFUL movie. Beautiful animation, the sketchiness is a great effect. The characterization and design were spot on. I think it ended up just fine.

YEah I liked the sketchiness affect in Aristocats, too. Don Bluth was he a director? What was he? And yeah it was a really good movie I saw it when I was little and I loved it. I remember once I had to go to my room so I yelled out the window "Shanticleer!! Shanticleer!!" for the rooster to come and save me hahaha.
